The U-14 Boys Ontario Futsal Cup between London Canadian FC and Guelph Royals was a razor thin contest that saw the two squads go back and forth all game.

Jacob McBride got things going early, as he notched the opener for Guelph just a few minutes into the contest.

Gray Yates added to that tally a few minutes later when he scored his first of three on the day for Guelph.

London pulled one back just before the half as Matthew Montepeque got his squad on the scoreboard, setting the stage for what would prove to be a wild finish.

London continued their momentum after the restart, scoring early as David Cubillos deposited it into the back of the Guelph net, drawing them level at 2-2.

Guelph retook the lead three minutes later when Yates headed home his second off a freekick, making it 3-2 Guelph.

Undeterred, London once again drew level as Juan Sebastian Gomez Galeano bent the twine.

Yates completed his hattrick with only 8 minutes remaining and for a few brief moments it looked as though Guelph had finally done enough to put the game away as they led 4-3.

But London showed no quit and would be rewarded for their hard work as Abel Tiruneh scored, sending the game to penalties.

In penalties, it would be more of the same, as these two very even sides went back and forth. Ultimately though, Guelph would do just enough to edge their opponents 3-2 and be crowned the U-14 Boys Ontario Futsal Cup champions.
