Canada Soccer Finds New General Secretary & CEO in Kevin Blue

It was announced today that Former Stanford, University of California-Davis, and Golf Canada executive Kevin Blue is stepping in as Canada Soccer's new General Secretary & CEO.

Ontario Soccer would like to congratulate Kevin Blue who has been named the new General Secretary & CEO of Canada Soccer, bringing with him extensive experience in commercial, sport, and chief executive roles.

"In Kevin, we have a transformational and results oriented leader on our team to help guide us towards a more positive future for soccer in Canada and to capture the incredible opportunities ahead.” said Canada Soccer President Charmaine Crooks in the official announcement.

Blue will assume the role on March 14, 2024.

This news comes a few weeks after it was revealed that Alyson Walker would no longer assume the role of General Secretary, as originally announced in December 2023.

Career Highlights

  • Blue oversaw the commercial areas of the NCAA’s most successful athletics department at Stanford University.
  • He became the youngest Athletics Director in Division-I at the time of his hire at UC Davis. Blue led a cultural and financial turnaround at the D1 school and made his name as a national thought leader on college sports finance.
  • Blue served as Golf Canada's Chief Sport Officer where he made a significant impact programmatically while helping to drive over $20 million in new financial support for the national teams and grassroots programming.
  • He was named one of Canada’s “Five to Watch” in 2023 and has authored several internationally-recognized white papers on the Business of Sports and Non-Profit Athletics.

Also released today was a letter from Kevin Blue to the Canada Soccer community as he begins his journey with the organization.
