As Ontario Soccer and its membership continues their recovery and the Return to Play, we are providing an update on the Canada Soccer C Licence Evaluation process in Ontario.

Due to the public health situation, the process to complete the Observation of Competency, or Evaluation, was impacted and during 2021 the priority was to support coaches who had been begun the process but were unable to complete it due to the public health restrictions.

Ontario Soccer is now opening the registration window for coaches to apply for an evaluation in 2022.

The Evaluation Process

Upon fully completing the C Licence course, coaches must successfully complete their practical evaluation to attain C Licence "Certified" status. Evaluations are completed by the video evaluation platform and the year is organized into four (4) blocks that are approximately three (3) months in duration.

To register for the 2022 Evaluation Blocks, click on the following links below:

• Block 1: January – March
  • Registration closes January 3, 2022
• Block 2: April – June
  • Registration closes March 21, 2022
• Block 3: July – September
  • Registration closes June 20, 2022
• Block 4: October - December
  • Registration closes September 23, 2022

Within each block, coaches will complete the evaluation process, as follows:

• Create an account and login to the Ontario Soccer Coach Evaluation Platform.
  • Coaches must check their e-mail (inbox & spam folder) the week prior to a registered Evaluation Block. An invitation will be sent to join during this time period
• Creation and submission of a full Session Plan and Emergency Action Plan (EAP);
• Pre-brief of your session plan with the assigned Ontario Soccer Evaluator prior to delivering the session;
• Video recording and submission of the training session;
• Debrief with feedback from a Coach Evaluator who has reviewed the submitted session and will provide a final outcome and action plan

If coaches are unsuccessful in their evaluation, they are eligible for up to two re-evaluations within their “trained” status window (currently three years; previously five years). Each additional evaluation is subject to a payment of $250.

Before requesting an evaluation

When registering for an Evaluation Block, coaches must ensure they are able to complete the entire process in the allotted three-month timeframe. Failure to complete the process or withdrawal at any point will result in an incomplete attempt and require that the coach re-registers for another Evaluation Block with the accompanying fee in full. No exceptions will be made as there is a limit of available spots to be evaluated within each Evaluation Block.

Please note, for coaches that completed their course prior to 2019, a $250 payment for the evaluation will be required as this fee was not included in the course registration. Coaches that completed their course in 2019 and beyond have already completed payment through their registration for the course.
