Play. Inspire. Unite.

FC London and Woodbridge Strikers were crowned as L1 Cup 2017 winners at a gala weekend that saw League1 Ontario players showcased at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

FC London were great value for the win, beating Woodbridge Strikers 6-1 in front of several hundred supporters. Former Canada U20 players Ashley Campbell and Jade Kovacevic were on target for London, as was current Canada U17 player Kaila Novak.

In the men's Cup, a local derby between Woodbridge Strikers and Vaughan Azzurri was a brilliant showcase of skill and tenacity. Strikers' forward Emmanuel Issac was on target for a brace and led the team to a 3-1 win and a second L1 Cup victory in four years.

With the L1 Cup gala weekend as a showcase, the League1 Ontario's Matchweek 15 was truncated to only four matches - but one of them had major title implications in the men's west division.

Leaders Sigma FC dropped their first points of the season to divisional rivals Oakville Blue Devils after a 1-0 final in front of 500 supporters at Hershey Centre, Mississauga. The win pulls Oakville level with Sigma with under ten matches left in the season.
