Mr. O'Brien was elected Ontario Soccer's next Board of Directors Chair at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Members on  Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Mr. O’Brien has 40 plus years of experience in Engineering Design, Project Management, Business Management and Commercial Management working for two major International Engineering Contractors (AMEC and Hatch). He started his career in Engineering Design and quickly moved into Project Management where he worked on a variety of Projects in various Industries including Oil & Gas, Hydro Power, Thermal Power, Nuclear Power and Renewable Power. Mr. O’Brien has managed multi-million dollar projects in his career, both domestically and internationally and spent extended periods in both the Middle East and South Africa.

Mr. O’Brien also has 40 plus years of experience in the soccer community, having volunteered with several Clubs and organizations in capacities that include Coach, Match Official, Board Member and Committee Member with organizations the likes of the Lincoln Soccer Club, Niagara Soccer Association and the South Region Soccer Association and is currently a Committee Member on Ontario Soccer’s Finance, District Modernizing and IModel Committees.
