John Labine from Timmins was the President of Soccer North from 2010 to 2019. During this period John also served on the Board of Directors of Ontario Soccer for eight years under the previous Board governance structure. John retired from his role as President of Soccer North in 2019, however, came back as President in 2021and was instrumental in helping the amalgamation in 2022 of Soccer North, Sault Amateur Soccer Association, South East Soccer Association and Sudbury Regional Soccer Association into the Greater North Soccer Association.

Throughout his career in soccer John was also a referee, mainly in the Timmins Adult Leagues, male and female, and older aged players in youth soccer.  John as a profession is a teacher of mathematics, coop and special education in Timmins and also finds time to coach high school soccer.
