Dave Holder has been a devoted soccer volunteer in Eastern Ontario for 23 years. Dave began as the manager for his daughter Mallory’s Nepean Hotspurs team from 1997-2003. He added the managing duties for daughter Shannon in 1999 and continued through to 2006 when the team ended its youth run.
Dave was elected as Director at Large with Nepean Hotspurs in the early 2000s. During his tenure he dedicated himself to volunteering at all Club events. He developed the Team Manager’s Guide, which is still used by all competitive teams within the Club to this day. Dave’s hard work and leadership was recognized in 2007 when he was elected as President of the Nepean Hotspurs SC. He has continued to be re-elected as President ever since, marking nearly 15 years in the role. He coordinates the Club's Friendship Tournament from start to finish annually.
Dave has taken an active role in his District as well. In 2014, he was elected Vice Chairman of the East Region Soccer League and continued on as acting Chairman until 2015. Dave currently sits on the EODSA Governance and Membership Committees and has also served on the Finance Committee.
In 2018, David was recognized by the Ottawa Fury FC, for his contributions to Canadian Soccer in the National Capital Region.
Dave has passionately and selflessly dedicated himself to the betterment of the sport. His primary objective, over the last 20+ years, has always been to ensure kids across the city are enjoying 'the beautiful game'. It began with his own children and quickly grew to encompass soccer players, Club, and team officials across Eastern Ontario.
