John Dutot has been involved in soccer over many years as a Player, Coach, Match Official and Administrator. In the Early 2000’s, John Dutot became involved with the Strathroy Caradoc Minor Soccer Association. He saw the need for competitive soccer in the Strathroy area to complement the existing house league program and in 2006 John formed the Middlesex United Soccer Club. He had the Club incorporated, drafted a Constitution, and established a Board of Directors to grow the organization. John was elected and served as its first President from 2006 until 2010.
During his tenure, the Club expanded from less than 10 teams in 2006, to 22 youth teams by 2010, with over 450 registered players. John and the Board of Directors of Middlesex United SC worked with the Strathroy Caradoc Minor SA to raise funds culminating in the opening of the Ricco Soccer Centre in June 2010. This initiative also resulted in the addition of irrigation systems at 4 other fields in the Strathroy area and was the most extensive in the 60 plus year history of minor soccer in Strathroy.
In 2010, John was elected President of the Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association. During John’s time serving as the President of the Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association he was instrumental in the creation of the Elgin Middlesex youth soccer league - EMDSL. John has also served on the Board of the London & District Youth Soccer League and the Western Region Soccer League. Furthermore, as President of EMSA, John was a District Representative on the Ontario Soccer Board of Directors until 2018. John’s leadership has been beneficial to advancing the game of soccer in the Elgin Middlesex area and beyond and his passion and dedication to the sport is extraordinary.
