Match Official Awards and Appreciation Day

Ontario Soccer and Toronto FC present the 4th Annual Match Officials Appreciation Day. On August 10th, 2019, join us in celebrating awards at the BMO Cub for nominees across the province. Following the ceremony, we will be able to cheer on Toronto FC as they face Orlando City FC.

Each ticket costs $59.50 and includes: Match Officials Awards Ceremony, 1 Ticket for the TFC vs Atlanta Game, Commemorative Coin and early concession access. The Match Officials Awards Ceremony will commence at 4:30 pm and match kick off starts at 7:30 pm. A percentage of proceeds from each ticket sold will help equip Ontario Soccer fields with defibrillators.

The first 200 officials to arrive will receive a commemorative coin.


2019 MATCH OFFICIALS AWARD CEREMONY

The Match Officials Appreciation Day Ceremony will take place in the BMO Club. Located at the field level in the east stand, the brand new BMO Club is just steps from the pitch of the BMO Field and will provide an intimate yet impressive setting for our Match Officials



AWARD NOMINATIONS

Ontario Soccer is looking for your vote to find the next Club Development, OPDL Development and 21 Spirit of the Game Award winners for 2019. Each category is listed below outlining how to qualify and who can cast a vote. For more information about each category and access to voting ballots, please click the link in the corresponding column. 

Spirit of the Game Award

Ontario Soccer is calling on all Match Officials (Including Clubs & Districts) to nominate one Match Official Community member who embodies the “Spirit of the Game” through leadership, reliability, constant willingness to learn, positive attitude, love of the game and participates as an active member in their community. This award may be made in consultation with Club Head Referees, District Referee Coordinators, Assignors and Referee Committees.

OPDL Development Award

Ontario Soccer is calling on all District Referee Coordinators & OPDL Assignors to nominate one Match Official who exemplifies OPDL Development through embracing the opportunity, understands the OPDL development pathways, respecting the OPDL philosophy and being aware of the OPDL rules and appling them fairly and consistently. The nominee must be in good standing and currently registered with Ontario Soccer.

Club Development Award

Ontario Soccer is calling on all District Referee Coordinators to nominate one Club who embodies Club Development by demonstrating outstanding contribution to the development of Match Officials in Ontario, mentors and supports up and coming Match Officials while adhering to Ontario Soccer policies and protocols. The nominee must be in good standing and currently registered with Ontario Soccer.
