The game format for the Ontario Indoor Cup is "Small Sided Soccer" (6-aside)

Under 16 Division is a combined Under 15/Under 16 division and the Under 18 Division is a combined Under 17/Under 18 division

Entry Procedure

  1. Application to enter the Ontario Indoor Cup must be made on the Online Entry Form (available at the bottom of this page).
  2. Deadline: The entry form must be submitted online by no later than Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
  3. Entry Fee is $550. Payment may be made with a credit card at the time the entry form is submitted online. Cheque or money order must be made payable to Ontario Soccer and must be received by the Entry Deadline. If a team has submitted an online Entry before the deadline, but payment has not been received by the Ontario Soccer Provincial Office or a District Association Office by the Entry Deadline that team will be denied entry into the Competition.
  4. Club Approval: Each entry form must be approved by the team's Club. When a team or club completes the Online Entry Form and submits it, a copy will be sent to the team's Club. The Club must then complete the online approval process by no later than December 8, 2023. A team will not be entered in the Ontario Indoor Cup if its Club does not approve the Entry by December 8, 2023.
  5. A team may only be entered in the division for which it is registered with Ontario Soccer.
  6. Notwithstanding Rule 1 D), if there is no division provided for a specific age/gender classification, the team will be permitted to enter the division for the next highest age division of the same gender with the exception of the Under 13 Division. Team's that have an age/gender classification of Under 12 or lower, will not be permitted to enter the Competition.
  7. All team coaches and assistant coaches must have completed the:
    1. Respect in Soccer certification; and
    2. Soccer for Life course plus MED (Making Ethical Decisions)
    3. Making Head Way in Soccer.
  8. Each region of the Province will be guaranteed a minimum of one team in the Final Round, provided it enters on, or prior to, Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Further representation by each region in the Final Round shall be based on the percentage of the total entries attained by each region.

The following is a regional breakdown of the District Associations:

REGION A:

Durham Region, Hamilton Soccer, Huronia District, Toronto, Niagara, North York, Peel Halton, Scarborough, York Region, East Central Ontario, Southwest Soccer

REGION B:

Elgin Middlesex, Essex County, Lambton Kent

REGION C:

Eastern Ontario and District, Southeast Ontario

REGION D:

Greater North

REGION E:

Soccer Northwest Ontario


Age Divisions

The Ontario Indoor Cup will be played in the following age divisions:

Under 13 Boys, Under 13 Girls Players born January 1, 2011 or later
Under 14 Boys, Under 14 Girls Players born January 1, 2010 or later
Under 16 Boys, Under 16 Girls Players born January 1, 2008 or later
Under 18 Boys, Under 18 Girls Players born January 1, 2006 or later

Eligibility

  1. The competition shall be open to all registered youth indoor and futsal amateur teams whose clubs are affiliated with Ontario Soccer,.
  2. To be eligible for entry, the team shall have its players registered to its club and assigned to the team. In order to be eligible to play, each player shall:
    1. be registered to the Club and assigned to the team; and
    2. be entered in Ontario Soccer's computerized registration system before playing a game in the competition.
  3. A player may play for only one team in the Ontario Indoor Cup.
  4. A player may, with permission of their club and provided they have not played for any other team in the Ontario Indoor Cup, play for another Team within the same Club to which they are registered provided the player plays up to a higher team age classification Team. Players will not be permitted to play up within the Club under any other circumstances.  
  5. A Team Official may only be on the bench and listed on a game sheet for one team in a division in the Ontario Indoor Cup.
  6. Each player/team official must produce their Player Registration Book/Card/OSCAR Digital ID before being eligible to participate. In games in the Preliminary Round, one representative from each team shall inspect the Player Registration Books/Cards/OSCAR Digital ID of the players on the opposing team. It shall be the responsibility of the team representative to notify the referee of any discrepancy prior to the game. In games played in the Final Round, the Ontario Soccer Representatives will inspect the Player ID 15 minutes prior to the first game on EACH day.
    In extenuating circumstances where the Player Registration Books/Cards/OSCAR Digital ID are not present at the start of the game, Player ID may be checked up to the end of the first half of play. If any player plays in the game and cannot produce their Player Registration Book/Card/OSCAR Digital ID by the end of the first half, they shall be an ineligible player, the game will be stopped and the team shall forfeit the game. A player that arrives at a game after the start of the second half shall not be eligible to play in the game.
  7. Where the registered colours of competing teams are similar, the home team must use its alternate colours. Goalkeepers must wear colours which in the opinion of the referee plainly distinguish them from the other players and match officials.
  8. The Ontario Soccer Representative(s) may request any player to produce their Player ID at any time.

Format

  1. The games will be played in accordance with The Playing Rules of Indoor Soccer published by Ontario Soccer.
  2. The Preliminary Round will be used to determine which teams in each region will advance to the Final Round. The format and playing facility will be determined by the number of teams entering from each region. The Preliminary Round winners will advance to the Final Round.
  3. The Preliminary Round and Final Round tournament games will consist of two halves of 20 minutes with a 2 minute break at half-time. The semi-final and cup final games will consist of two halves of 25 minutes with a 5 minute break at half-time.
  4. The games for all divisions will be played with 6-aside.

Final Round

  1. The Final Round will be made up of eight teams. The format will be a tournament round of two groups with the top two teams in each group advancing to the Semi-Finals.  This format may change at the discretion of the Competitions Management Committee.
  2. The games in the Final Round will be played at:

    THE ONTARIO SOCCER CENTRE

    Vaughan, Ontario, Canada
     
  3. The Final Round will be played over two days, with the tournament round being played on one day, and the Final on the next day. 
  4. Ontario Soccer will cover all Match Official Fees in the Final Round.
  5. For a team traveling 1000 kilometers or more one way to the Final Round, there will be a flat grant of $1000.00 for travel and accommodation expenses.

No Shows

  1. Any team failing to show up or produce the minimum number of required players (4) at the Ontario Indoor Cup Competition shall:
    1. forfeit its entry fee;
    2. pay any applicable officials' fees and travel expenses incurred; and
    3. pay up to a maximum fine of $1100.00.
  2. The managers and the coach of the team which fails to fulfill its appointed cup game may be subject to further disciplinary action.

General

  1. Ontario Soccer and the Ontario Indoor Cup Committee will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by any team or individual if the tournament is rescheduled or cancelled.
  2. The use of Free-Standing Videography Equipment, such as a VEO Camera on a tripod, is not permitted in the Ontario Indoor Cup.  Failure to adhere to this regulation may result in a fine or other sanction.
  3. The Ontario Indoor Cup Committee shall decide on all matters pertaining to the tournament. The Committee's interpretation of all rules shall be final and subject to no further appeal.
