Ontario Cup Hosting

Each year the Ontario Cup could not happen without tournament hosts.

District Associations, Clubs, Leagues, and Referee Associations may host one or more Ontario Cup tournaments. District Associations, Provincial Leagues and Regional Leagues apply directly to Ontario Soccer while all other organizations apply through their District Association.

The Tournament Host Organization responsibilities are to:

  • Apply to its District Association to host an Ontario Cup Tournament by Jan. 10, 2019
  • Participate in the Ontario Cup Tournament Webinar
  • Supply the Competitions and Events Department with the following:
    • A google map link, with address for the playing field
    • The kick-off time and the field for each game on the schedule
    • Hotel information for teams travelling
    • Any other relevant information

Hosts are required to

  • Erect the nets and corner flags and ensure that the field is properly lined
  • Ensure that washroom facilities are available for the teams and spectators
  • Provide game balls for each game
  • Update the Ontario Cup website with scores after each game
  • Communicate results to the D.O.C.C. by 7:00 p.m., Sunday night of the tournament weekend
  • Collect the match official fee payments from each team and pay the match officials
  • Pay all expenses incurred in hosting the tournament

Under 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 Tournament Format:

All tournament groups will consist of four teams, and each team will play one game Friday, one game Saturday, and one game Sunday at prearranged times. This format is intended to give more rest time to the players, reduce risk of injury, to elevate the level of play, and is key to a more "player-centered" mentality.

Under 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 Tournament Round Times:

  • Friday – kick-off between 5:00pm and 8:00pm
  • Saturday – kick-off between 2:00pm and 6:00pm
  • Sunday – kick-off between 1:00pm and 5:00pm
