When the head coach of the men's national team speaks, people listen. 

A huge crowd was on hand to kick off Day 2 of the Ontario Soccer Summit and hear what John Herdman had to say. 

Herdman's hour long keynote speech covered where the game is, where it's going and how we all play a role in helping us to get there. 

"Now is the time to get behind the badge. Now is the time to get behind Canada Soccer," said Herdman. "If not now, when?"

The first session of the day, which was held at Wolf Performance Hall, set a high bar for the remainder of the day's on field and classroom sessions at BMO Centre in London. 

In the Match Officials stream, powered by MLS, Sonia Denoncourt was back once again for classroom and on field sessions. She was joined by the recently retired Joe Fletcher who spoke about his 2018 World Cup journey and teamed up with Denoncourt for an on-field session on Teamwork. 

In the Community Leaders stream, powered by the Canadian Premier League, Nancy Spotton, Day 3's keynote speaker, gave those in attendance a taste of what to expect the following day while Alan Hollingsworth gave the straight goods on what you need to know about injured players and insurance. 

Bion West, George Fadel and Phil Balke, Toronto FC's eSports athlete, spoke about the future of eSports and teed up the evenings events at the Ontario Soccer Summit social and e-Sport tournament. 

The busiest stream of the day was the Technical Leaders, powered by LaLiga. Attendees were treated to six sessions, which included three on field and three in classroom and saw the likes of Carmelina Moscato, Mauro Biello and Carlos Casal Lopez draw big crowds.

Additionally Richard Bucciarelli and Barry Jansen brought new perspectives in their respective areas.

And Ontario Soccer's Technical Director Gary Miller and Paul Jurbala from Sport for Life spoke about LTPD coming full-circle and where we go from here. 

After his appearance on the Soccer Now panel, Jason deVos returned to lead a session with Canada Soccer's Dave Nutt on the Club Licensing Program being rolled out across the country. Applications for the program opened the day before and this session served as a good launching point for the province. 

A packed Day 2 concluded with the Soccer Summit Social and e-Sport Tournament at The Roundhouse as delegates took the opportunity to network, unwind and take in some of the entertainment.
