Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the launch of its new registration platform, which will serve to connect soccer in the province like never before.

Ontario Soccer Club & Academy Registry (OSCAR), previously referred as the Member Management Registration System, has been built in association with SportsEngine, the Official Technology Partner of Ontario Soccer and will now let the Clubs and Academies connect their real-time participant registration data on a single platform.

“This is a big step for our soccer membership and infrastructure in Ontario. By bringing together the registration data of participants across the province, whether community club or private academy, we have, for the first time, real-time data reporting to a centralized location,” said Johnny Misley, Chief Executive Officer of Ontario Soccer. “The challenge for Ontario previously had been that Clubs and Academies were utilizing a number of different technology solutions to run their organizations. OSCAR now allows Ontario Soccer and its Districts to connect with its members directly in an ever changing sport environment.”

Beginning in 2016, SportsEngine has been building a custom registration platform tailored to the specific needs of soccer in Ontario and with a registration architecture focused on some 650 Clubs and Academies where the management of the participants takes place. With the launch of OSCAR , powered by SportsEngine today, Ontario Soccer has officially retired its AIMS reporting system.

“It was critical that we got this right for Ontario Soccer. We knew that a one-size-fits-all solution wasn’t going to work,” said SportsEngine CEO Justin Kaufenberg. “We worked hand in hand with Ontario Soccer and its Districts to ensure we arrived at a registration platform that was not only cutting edge but would set the organizations up for long-term success.”

To assist with the rollout, SportsEngine staff have been deployed in Ontario to lead training for early adopters of the new technology. Additional online resources have also been made available to aid in the transition.

“This is an exciting time for the Ontario Soccer and SportsEngine partnership. Our staff are prepared and here to help with onboarding and training for OSCAR,” said Krystal LaFlamme, SportsEngine’s Principal Engagement Manager.

As well as the increased efficiency OSCAR now offers for Ontario’s membership registration, as a part of the Phase 2 plan, SportsEngine will also begin building additional customized sports management tools to create a customized soccer management eco-system for soccer in Ontario.

“The responsible implementation of this new technology solution has been a focus for Ontario Soccer,” said Lyn Wallington, Ontario Soccer Director of Member Relations and Human Resources. “This will continue to be a methodical roll out of OSCAR, ensuring there is minimal disruption to Ontario Soccer’s Districts, Clubs and Academies.”
