The Ontario Indoor Cup U-14 Boys finals took place on Sunday at the Ontario Soccer Centre, in Vaughan, as Glen Shields FC took on Pro Stars FC Blue.
These two teams met earlier in the tournament, with Glen Shields getting the better of the Pro Stars on that occasion with a 4-0 win.
In the final though, it would be all Pro Stars as they had all the bulk of possession early on and saw several chances deflect off the post or go just wide.
Jesse Costa would finally find a way through for his side when he opened the scoring in the 11th minute. His blast found the upper corner of the net, just past the outstretched fingers of the Glen Shields keeper, to make it 1-0 Pro Stars.
Costa would increase their lead a few minutes later when he collected his own rebound and slotted his shot into the back of the net to make it 2-0 in the 15th minute.
The second half began in the same fashion. In the first minute of the second half, Costa completed an inspired run by poking it past the keeper and making it 3-0.
Pro Stars continued piling it on when Brian Polak pounced on a loose ball in the box and his shot made it 4-0. Another blast from Polak minutes later would make it 5-0
Timoor Beg added it to the tally, making it 6-0 with his own marker.
Glen Shields would draw once back in the dying moments, when Gianfranco Salituro pounced on a mistake and broke the shutout.
From there Pro Stars would shut the door, avenging their loss earlier in the tournament with a 6-1 winJess, and capture the U-14 Boys Ontario Indoor Cup.
