The Ontario Indoor Cup U-16 Girls Ontario Indoor Cup final took place Sunday at the Ontario Soccer Centre, in Vaughan, as the Woodbridge Strikers took on Ajax FC .

Ajax opened the scoring in the 8th minute when a threading pass deflected off a Woodbridge defender and found its way to Victoria Jones who pounced on the opportunity and made no mistake in giving her team a 1-0 lead.

Ajax increased their lead with four minutes reminding in the first half as Alexa Hardie slipped in behind the Woodbridge defender and her left footed shot found the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Woodbridge would enjoy good spells of possession throughout the remainder of the half but were not able to break the Ajax defence down.

The second half would see Woodbridge pressing to find their way into the game but Ajax’s defence was solid time and again.

That would be all Ajax would need as their keeper Joedyn Chrons-Slaght closed the door on allowing any real chances and captured the U-16 Girls Ontario Indoor Cup.
