Play. Inspire. Unite.

Ontario Soccer is proud to announce the release of the HUB International Presents - LTOD Practice Series.

The second eight videos in this series focus on a variety of drills to help improve a referees performance on the field.

"Fitness is an integral part of officiating. Match Officials need to consider themselves as athletes and prepare themselves as such," said Tony Camacho, Project Lead, Long Term Match Official Development (LTOD). "This will assist Match Officials on their road to improved fitness, injury prevention and to help prepare them for fitness tests."

Ontario Soccer, through the LTOD program, are providing resources that benefit the match official on and off the field of play. A match official that is fit and educated will enhance the experience of players, coaches and spectators.

"No matter grade, age or gender, LTOD will provide opportunity in training and education for each Match Official to reach their personal goals and potential," Nicky Pearson, Ontario Soccer Manager, Match Officials Development. "We are creating positive change in the community, and each game deserves a match official that is qualified, educated and able to perform."

A five-year strategic initiative, the LTOD is now an integral component of the Operational Plan of the Soccer Operations Department. LTOD will provide a standards-based education and development program, through strong leadership, inclusivity and support.

All aspects of the Match Official Development Program will be strengthened, as Development Support Team members, Match Officials and the game will benefit from a ground breaking development and training program.

The next series of videos, presented by HUB International, will be released in the coming months and will feature standardized training methods that can be used by officials across Ontario to improve their skills.
