Ontario and Quebec leading the way on Day 2 of the 2018 Toyota National Championships

Scarborough GS United continue to roll with another win while Caledon SC picked up their first win and the Cumberland Cobras won their opener

Only two teams sit clear atop their group with six points after Day 2 at the 2018 Toyota National Championships. Across three venues and six competitions, parity has the standings knotted up. Jubilee Trophy entrants Scarborough GS United from Ontario and Quebec’s CS Repentigny at the Girls’ U-15 Cup are the only teams to have earned a full six points through two days. 
 
With Teck Finals Day looming on Thanksgiving Monday, teams will look to earn three points on Day 3 and position themselves in the Gold Medal brackets.
 
Only the two first place finishers in Challenge Trophy competition will play for gold on Teck Finals Day and three ties on Day 2 has knotted up both Group standings. Defending Champions Western Halifax FC drew hosts Saskatoon Revolution in the final match of the day. The Nova Scotians have four points from two matches thus far. 

Ontario’s Scarborough GS United have secured six full points from their two matches thus far leading Group A after Day 2 at the Jubilee Trophy competition in Saskatoon, SK. Newfoundland’s Holy Cross will meet BC’s Surrey United to determine the winner of Group B on Day 3.

U-17 Cup in Surrey, BC

Results from Day 2 of the 2018 Toyota National Championships U-17 Cup will lead to an exciting Day 3 as teams look to lock up their respective groups and advance to the seeding phase with a gold medal in mind. Undefeated teams in two groups in each competition will settle the seeding as Alberta and Nova Scotia, and Quebec and Newfoundland & Labrador in the Girls’ U-17 Cup and Ontario and Newfoundland, and Alberta and Quebec battle for the top spot.
 
Manitoba will look to lock up top spot in Boys Group A on matchday three, while Groups B and C have matchups of undefeated teams. Group D sees hometown Surrey United with the chance to take first place from rivals Coquitlam Metro-Ford.
 
At the 2018 Toyota National Championships Girls’ U-17 Cup, competition remains tight with no team having a lock on the top of any of the four groups. Quebec will face Newfoundland for the top of Group A while Alberta look to do the same. The hometown Surrey United SC can also lock up Group D with a win.

U-15 Cup in Laval, QC

Close races in seven of the eight groups will make for an exciting Day 3 at the 2018 Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup in Laval, QC. Only hosts Quebec have a grip on their group with Girls Group D secured by the hosts. A place on the gold medal side of the seeding phase awaits the top teams.

Quebec will look to Ontario to defeat British Columbia in the final Boys Group D match on Day 3 to hand them top spot. Quebec and Newfoundland face off as undefeated teams in the battle for top spot in Group A. On the Girls side of the competition, Quebec wrapped up Girls’ U-15 Cup Group D on Day 2 while undefeated teams Alberta and Saskatchewan, and Ontario and British Columbia will face off on Day 3.
