The U-13 Girls Ontario Final saw Barrie FC taking on Caledon Cyclones in a game played at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

In the semi-finals, Caledon downed the Oshawa Kicks with a convincing 4-2 victory while Barrie stomped the Brampton Brams with a hard earned 4-1 win to advance.

In the 11th minute, Caledon’s Alexis Cordeiro was brought down in the box by the Barrie keeper Olivia Gardiner.

Gardiner would incur a yellow card for her troubles but on the corresponding penalty kick, Gardiner would stop Cordero’s shot and keep the game knotted at 0-0.

Caledon would find quick redemption however as Angelina Kristic, after rounding the keeper, sniped a shot from a tight angle to make it 1-0 Caledon.

Only moments later, Caledon would increase their lead to 2-0, as Kristic would score a second on a nearly identical play that saw her in alone, round the keeper and slot her shot into the empty net.

Barrie would pull one back with eight minutes remaining before halftime. Alexandra Pino would get in behind the Caledon defence and she showed great patience in slipping past the Caledon keeper and making it 2-1.

Caledon would start the second half on the front foot as Cordeiro would find herself in on net again. This time, she wouldn’t try to round the keeper and instead placed her shot neatly into the corner to make it 3-1.

That would be all Caledon would need as they would shut it down the rest of the way and capture the U-13 Girls Ontario Cup title.
