Milton Magic win U-16 Boys Ontario Cup in six goal rout

Six goals, from six players, had Milton cruising to their Ontario Cup title

The U-16 Boys Ontario Final saw Ajax FC taking on Milton Magic in a game played at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

In the semifinals, Milton blanked Windsor Fc Nationals 5-0 to secure their place in the final while Ajax downed the Kitchener Academy 3-1 to advance.

Milton would be the first to find the net when Michael Drlje was pulled down in the box in the 16th minute. On the corresponding penalty, Drlje would make no mistake in finishing his opportunity to make it 1-0 Milton.

Samuel Vera would double their lead to 2-0 when he made a long, streaking run and his left footed shot found the back of the net to make it 2-0 Milton.

Tife Akintan would increase Milton’s lead to 3-0 just before the half after a great individual effort and a smart finish.

Justin Pawlowski would put the game out of reach in the 60th minute for Milton when he finished what was a brilliant counter attack by his side and made it 4-0.

Matthew DeMichele added one more to Milton’s tally in the 80th minute when he pounced on a loose ball in the box and converted his opportunity to make it 5-0.

Ajax would not give up however, as Kaleem Remekie would pull one back for his side in the 85th minute when his shot was deflected into the Milton net, making it 5-1.

Milton would answer right back as Phoenix Carter was hauled down in the box. On the corresponding penalty, he converted his chance to make it 6-1.

Milton would shut it down the rest of the way from there and be crowned U-16 Boys Ontario Cup champions.
