Matchweek 12 results leave three playoff spots open, while Golden Boot turns blue

Play. Inspire. Unite.

The penultimate week in the women's division 2018 regular season was a topsy-turvy one, with teams experiencing hope and heartbreak in equal measure en route to playoff determination.

FC London became the first team to claim a semi-final berth, with Unionville and De Ro having their destinies decided for them. Positive results early in the matchweek were dashed by results elsewhere by the weekend's conclusion.

Four teams will now battle it out in Matchweek 13 for the remaining three women's playoff spots; in the final week of play, any one of Woodbridge, Durham, Oakville and Vaughan could leapfrog one another to claim playoff status, or face elimination.

Elsewhere in the league, men's leaders TFC III dropped points for the third match in a row (including the L1 Cup Finals loss), as Sigma FC overtook the Junior Reds to first place in the table. Pressure increased from the base of the competition as well, with Alliance FC and Sanjaxx Lions continuing to apply pressure on the final playoff berths with convincing Matchweek 12 wins.

Matchweek 12 was also a remarkable week for the Oakville Blue Devils organization, with male and female players - Anthony Novak and Mahira Ali - claiming first place in the respective Golden Boot competitions. Novak finished a hat-trick against OSU to take him to a men's division leading 11, while Ali put four past Aurora to tally a women's division leading 15 goals.
