The Ontario Soccer Match Officials Development Department and Match Officials Development Committee (MODC) would like to remind you that Phase 2 of the Game Fee and Assigning Protocol will occur in 2019.

MODC has been addressing Game Fees since 2015 and as a result created the Game Fee and Assigning Protocol which is being released in 3 phases.  This protocol sets minimums and maximums for game fees based on the level of competition.

The Ontario Soccer Board of Directors approved:

  • Phase 1 in 2015 for implementation in 2018 – Provincial and Regional Leagues
  • Phase 2 in 2016 for implementation in 2019 – District Competitive Leagues

Implementation of Phase 2 commences with recommended increases in 2018 and full compliance province wide in 2019 for District Competitive leagues.

These include:

  • OSL/OWSL/Multi-Jurisdictional District U21
  • District Competitive leagues U14 to Senior

There will be a requirement that any assignor must be a registered member of Ontario Soccer on RefCentre. Assignors must follow the Canada Soccer Pyramid of Assigning and also follow the Ontario Soccer Grading Protocol and Game Fee and Assigning Protocol.

The goal of this protocol is to create consistency, accountability and credibility.

Please note that current protocols are available on the Ontario Soccer website.
