Team Ontario make their mark during the Inter-Provincial competition

The provincial representatives played teams from the Federation de Soccer Quebec

Play. Inspire. Unite.

Over the weekend Team Ontario showcased themselves as they took on some tough opponents from the Federation de Soccer de Quebec provincial program.

The Ontario boys and girls U-14, U-15 and U-16 teams tested their skills from Apr. 27 – Apr. 29 in Vaughan at the Ontario Soccer Centre over the course of a three-day competition.

National team and professional club scouts were in attendance.

Team Ontario finished the weekend's competition off with six wins, eight losses and four draws.

The U-14 Boys opened their weekend with a draw then moved on to endure a loss and a victory to close out their campaign.

Team Ontario fought to a goalless draw on Friday.

They then went down to Quebec in a 3-1 loss on the second day of the competition.

Finally, Team Ontario finished their weekend with a much-needed dose of victory after winning 3-1 over Quebec with goals from Bryan Gray, Kabir Chahal and Lucas Basmadjian.

The U-14 Boys were led by Bryan Rosenfeld and Assistant Coach Dimitri Ovtchinnikov.

The U-14 Girls had a slow start to their campaign but edged Quebec in the rest of the series throughout the weekend.

Team Ontario played to a goalless draw in their first match of the tournament.

They then came back in their second match to win 1-0 thanks to a lone goal from Amanda Allen.

And in their final clash of the weekend they earned a 1-0 victory thanks to a  goal from Nia-Fleming Thompson.

The U-14 Girls were led by Head Coach Brandon Frith and Assistant Coach Donna Perrie.

The U-15 Boys opened their weekend with a strong display finishing the weekend off with two wins and one loss.

Team Ontario edged Quebec in their opening match with a 1-0 victory thank a goal from Gabriel Poles.

In their second match, Team Ontario fought off Quebec with a 3-2 win with two goals from D’Andre Williams and Dennis Escobar.

In their final match of the weekend Team Ontario suffered a 1-0 loss.

The U-15 Boys were led by Head Coach Selvin Lammie and Assistant Coach Mark Worton.

The U-15 Girls fought through some tough matches throughout the weekend finishing off the series with one draw, one loss, and one win.

In their first match Team Ontario slugged it out against Quebec to finish with a 4-4 draw. The match saw two goals from Tierra Garniss, one goal apiece from Olivia Smith and Taliyah Walker.

In their second match, the U-15 Girls endured a 1-5 loss with the sole goal for Ontario coming from Christina Gomes.

In their final display, the girls went out with a big 4-0 victory with two goals coming from Olivia Smith, one each from Miya Grant- Clavijo and Keera Melenhorst.

The U-15 Girls were led by Head Coach Dave Kelly and Assistant Coach Tracy Vaillancourt.

The U-16 Boys Inter-Provincial weekend saw them collect two losses and one draw.

In their first match, they fell 2-0 to Quebec at the Vaughan Grove Outdoor Sports Park.

In the second, Team Ontario fell once again in a 1-0 loss.

They then tied up their weekend with a 1-1 draw against Quebec with the only goal of the weekend coming from Mohamed Maadani.

The U-16 Boys were led by Head Coach Patrick Tobo and Assistant Coach Vladimir Klinovsky.

The U-16 Girls campaign saw them collect three losses over the course of the weekend.

In the first match of the series, the U-16 Girls fell 1-2 with the one Ontario goal coming from Courtney Chochol.

In their second match Team Ontario conceded four Quebec goals to finish the match with a 0-4 loss.

In their final outing, Team Ontario fell once again to their provincial opponents in a 0-3 loss.

The U-16 Girls were led by Head Coach Laura Arduini and Assistant Coach Matthew Ferreira.
