Anthony Capotosto is the U-16 team head coach and in his seventh season with the Toronto FC Academy. He kicks the discussion off with an interactive analysis of videos and plays to help referee identify the variety of calls that can be made in any given scenario.
Sonia Denoncourt is the current Academy Director for North America for You Are The Ref International. She was first female FIFA accredited referee and the former FIFA head of women's referee /senior manager refereeing and also the former Director of Refereeing at CONCACAF. In her panel, she talks about a variety of ways that referees can become the absolute best they can be.
Cameron Brooks is a former Varsity Athlete and League1 Ontario player who brings a unique perspective to the Match Officials Discussion Panel. In his panel, he discusses referee-player relationships and what his experience with referees at a high level have been like.
Tony Camacho is a member of the Match Officials Development Committee and the LTOD project lead. His portion of the panel includes a variety of relevant technical information to benefit in the development of today's referee's.
Each party spoke about relevant topics surrounding Match Officials from the coaching, player and preparation angles. All panelists used their own experiences in the soccer realm to comment and discuss their advice for Match Officials.
