The Ontario Soccer Summit 2018, presented by Respect in Sport, was in full swing on Day 2.
Early morning sessions included everything from grassroots programming, to performance pressures, to match official education and finances.
The second keynote of the weekend, featuring Andrea Shaw, kicked of the day in earnest.
Her speech took attendees on a journey. It was shaped by her thought leadership and trailblazing work in regards to empowering today’s female athletes to become tomorrow’s business leaders.
Furthermore, she shared insights and practical advice in the areas of local grassroots marketing and modern day information consumption trends by sport consumers with the audience.
Her full keynote speech will be released on OntarioSoccer.net on March 19.
The remainder of the day saw Richard Grootscholten from the Feyenoord Academy and Mark O'Sullivan from AIK Stockholm hosting on-field sessions.
Former FIFA Match Official Sonia Denoncourt was also on field working with Ontario's match officials to raise their game.
Dr. Nick Bontis and Nancy Spotton gave an injection of leadership training. Dr. Lawrence Spriet spoke to the science of fueling athletes and Rescue 7, Kick it Out and Peel Police were on hand to speak the administrators.
In the evening, a special screening of the documentary Swift Current was shown and Sheldon Kennedy was on hand to take part in an intimate question and answer session.
Day 2 concluded with Ontario Soccer Summit delegates networking with their peers at the annual Summit Social.
