This week features a focus on Developing Spatial Awareness

Play. Inspire. Unite.

The Player Development department continues to put together a practice for coaches to use with their players across the province.

Each week will focus on one of the three LTPD development stages at the Grassroots level, which includes Active Start, FUNdamentals, and Learn to Train.

In this week's session, the Player Development department has focused on the Learn to Train.

The objective of this session is to develop players' spacial awareness.

Players begin by working on their physical literacy with a game of ball tag whereby there problem solving skills are challenged.

After this, they will go into a chaos game where in the same grid, a 3v3 small sided game is played with another group of players working on passing & receiving through the game.

From here, players will work in groups of three to receive the ball with the interference of the other groups.

Players then finish off in a game that is as close to the rules and regulations as they play on game day as players then have the ultimate challenge of using this skill to be successful in a game
