Play. Inspire. Unite.
The OPDL Spotlight Series, presented by Toronto FC, highlights stories, teams and initiatives from around the league.
This week features comments from John Hyland, Technical Director at North Toronto Soccer Club.
North Toronto Soccer Club is an original member of OPDL, joining in 2014. OPDL has impacted the entire Club with a development structure being implemented from U4 right through to help grow our own players and make the OPDL program a sustainable and community orientated project, with a clear DNA.
With the introduction of a clear NTSC Player Pathway and use of LTPD Principles, the direction of our Club is to develop talent through our own Programs.
With that being said though, it is imperative for OPDL to include all the top talent in the Province and so efforts have been made to form partnerships with local youth Clubs.
NTSC prides itself on the bringing together the best possible technical staff.
We are delighted to have technical staff in place for nearly 10 years with additions joining a force that have a desire to grow, develop and put the player at the centre of our plans.
Creating the right intrinsically motivated environment, one in which players/coaches/administrators/match officials believe in, is essential. We try to create a fun learning environment in which everyone wants to get on, not off.
John Hyland believes that every year spent as a Technical Director, it is vital to learn more and efficient ways to improve the environment created to help the development of players/coaches/match officials and administrators.
