The U-16 Boys Tier 2 Ontario Cup featured Mississauga Dixie taking on the Oakville Wild in the final provincial championship of the summer.

Both teams would trade chances early on but couldn’t find the net to give them an edge.

Oakville’s William Fletcher would find a way through in the 34th minute when he got on the end of a cross into the box and his header was nodded into the back of the net, making it 1-0 for the Wild.

Mississauga would press to tie it but were unable to find an answer before the half.

When the second half kicked off, Mississauga was once again on the front foot and this time were rewarded for their efforts.

Praise Adeyemi got in behind the Oakville defence and did just enough to touch it past the Oakville keeper and tie the game at 1-1 in the 50th minute.

Each team would continue to press and look for the winner.

Just when it looked like the game was headed to penalties, Mississauga’s Ayman Islam gave his squad the lead with a last second effort that found the net, making it 2-1.

Mississauga would put everyone behind the ball in the dying moment and was able to hold on to capture the U-16 Boys Tier 2 Ontario Cup.
