Play. Inspire. Unite.

The Player Development department continues to put together a practice for coaches to use with their players across the province.

Each week will focus on one of the three LTPD development stages at the Grassroots level, which includes Active Start, FUNdamentals, and Learn to Train.

This session focuses on Creating Space to Shoot for Learn to Train Players.

The ‘Space Maker’ Physical Literacy exercises helps players work on their hand eye co-ordination, quick feet to and opening up the hips to shoot in a safe and fun environment.

It progresses to small sided games to encourage players to move at the right time to receive and shoot on goal. It’s followed by the King Louis activity which allows players to make decisions based on the opposition’s defensive positioning. Finally, the session finishes off in a small sided game that is appropriate to the players age and stage of development, given numbers available at the session.

This week's practice is also available in video format, as well.
