The Toronto 2017 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) is expected to be the largest sporting and cultural gathering of Indigenous Peoples in North America. The Toronto 2017 NAIG will host more than 5,000 participants, 2,000 volunteers and countless spectators for 14 sport categories being held within world-class venues located across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including the Region of Hamilton and Six Nations of the Grand River
The North American Indigenous Games are a multi-sport, multi-disciplinary event involving Indigenous youth from Canada and the United States. The Games offer 14 sport competitions in addition to a vibrant cultural program, showcasing local and North American indigenous cultural groups and entertainers.
The Aboriginal Sport & Wellness Council of Ontario is looking for qualified soccer coaches for the Boys and Girls U16 teams for Aboriginal Team Ontario. Each team will have one head coach and one assistant coach. The requirements are as follows for both teams:
Head Coach:
- Proof of Soccer for Life (or higher)
- Proof of Make Ethical Decisions course
- Proof of Making Head Way In Soccer – Online concussion awareness course

Assistant Coaches:
- Proof of Soccer for Life (or higher)
- Proof of Making Head Way In Soccer – Online concussion awareness course

The NAIG Training day is Sunday, July 16 and the competition days will be from July 17 – 22.
