OSA Names Björn Osieck Director Of Business Operations

The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) today announced the hiring of experienced soccer executive Björn Osieck in the newly created role of Director of Business Operations.

Osieck will lead integrated revenue generation initiatives, as well as the marketing and event management areas of the association.

"We are excited to welcome Björn to the Ontario Soccer Association team in this pivotal role of Director of Business Operations, as we look to grow the organization and advance the game," OSA Executive Director Johnny Misley said. "His leadership experience and knowledge of the business of soccer will be a tremendous asset to us as we work to build relationships and strengthen the OSA brand."

Osieck has led some of the largest soccer organizations in the country, including serving as Chief Staff Officer for the British Columbia Soccer Association and the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Soccer Association.

He most recently worked as CEO of the West Ottawa Soccer Club, the second largest community soccer club in Canada.

In each of these organizations Osieck has successfully implemented sound business practices to strengthen the operations. Osieck's first day with the OSA will be April 14.

"I am elated to join the new Ontario Soccer Association leadership team at this crucial time for our beautiful game," Osieck said. "It is my goal to help to engage and unite our soccer family by energizing our brand image through growing player development success and internal operational excellence."

Osieck has worked on multiple soccer initiatives for FIFA and the Canadian Soccer Association, as well as provincial sport organizations.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business and a Sport Administration Certificate from York University.
