When the Ontario Cup kicks off this weekend with the U-18 boys and U-21 men's divisions it will mark a special event in the competition's history.

Started in 1901, the provincial soccer championship, is the largest competition of its kind in Canada and one of the oldest sporting events in the country. With a number of the early years lost to the war, 2015 now marks the 100th year of competition for the Ontario Cup.

To commemorate the significance of this event, the Ontario Soccer Association will be running a number of historical stories, highlighting some of the best and brightest moments from the competition's 100 year history.

Starting next week and then running throughout the summer, these stories will feature teams, players and events that have made this competition into one of the premier soccer events in Canadian soccer and will showcase some of its most interesting moments.

You can keep up to date with all of these stories by subscribing to the OSA Newsletter and experience some of the tournament's richest moments.

If you know of some of the special little known moments, please share them with us and help us tell the Ontario Cup's rich history.
