Pair Of League1 Teams Make Big Weekend Statements

Windsor made a big statement in League1 Ontario Men's action while the Vaughan Azzurri women crept ever closer to league leaders with a dominating performance of their own over the weekend. 

Men's Division

In a massive win against Master's FA Saints, Windsor Stars found the back of the net eight times for a final result of 8-1. 

After a hard fought battle with two goals a piece, Kingston Clippers and Vaughan Azzurri walked away with a point each. 

Oakville Blue Devils is now 10 games without a loss, as they beat Durham United F.C in Pickering on Saturday night with a 5-2 result. 

Toronto FC Academy conceded three goals and three points to ANB Futbol in a 3-1 match.  

Sigma F.C. fought hard to put two goals past Sanjaxx Lions in the second half of Saturday's matchup to earn three points with 2-1 as the final result. 

Women's Division

Vaughan Azzurri convincingly beat ANB Futbol 4-0, as their star forward, Maxine Murchie, scored all four goals for the winning side. This weekend, Pro Stars F.C. became the first team to defeat Durham United F.C., and broke their six-game winning streak with a 92nd minute goal on Saturday's exciting matchup. 

In a tight match, Woodbridge Strikers scored one goal to beat North Mississauga on their home turf. 

L1 Cup

Men's Division

Having recuperated from their tie game this past weekend in their regular season, Kingston Clippers narrowly defeated Master's FA Saints and earned a 4-3 win on Monday night's L1 Cup game. Look for the game report coming soon on
