A number of Ontario born players, including five with League1 Ontario lineage, have already been called to the Canadian U-20 camp next week. Another crop of 28 League1 Ontario players are at the Ontario Soccer Centre hoping to turn the heads of the national team coaching staff.

A handful of players from that camp will be asked to participate in the Canadian team portion of the camp.

"I thoroughly believe that continuing to build partnerships and alliances is very important to secure a better future for the game in Canada," said Tony Fonseca, Canada Soccer Technical Director, of the process that sees some League1 players included in this camp.

On September 4, the U-20 players will watch Canada face Belize at BMO Field in a FIFA World Cup Qualifiers home-and-away elimination series. All Canadian fans are encouraged to support the team on the road to Russia 2018, with tickets to this match available via Ticketmaster.ca starting at just $20.
