Fight For League1 Ontario Titles Continues

By OSA News, 09/23/15, 4:15PM EDT

The competition remains fierce as the title race comes closer to the end.  The top two teams in both divisions are in a tight battle to clinch the title after an exciting weekend of action.

In their last home game of the season, North Mississauga Panthers comfortably beat ANB Futbol in front of their supporters and solidified their place in fourth.

In a clash between the top teams in the Women's division of League1 Ontario, Durham United and Woodbridge Strikers both evaded a catastrophic loss by securing a point each through a 1-1 tie.

Durham United added a critical three points to their column, after soundly beating Sanjaxx Lions 8-0, to ensure their bid for the league title.

Sanjaxx Lions looked in favour to take home three points until Vaughan Azzurri made a comeback with two late goals to take the 2-1 win from the home team.

While Sigma F.C. appeared to have dominated the game against Oakville Blue Devils, the Devils came back to tie the game at 2-2 with eleven minutes left in the match.

Early goals from Master's FA Saints in the 4th and 21st minute put the game out of reach for visitors Windsor Stars, and their organized defense ensured a 2-1 win.

An extra time penalty for Toronto FC Academy gave the Junior Reds a tight victory against ANB Futbol.
