VAUGHAN, September 29, 2015 – The quest for gold begins next week as the top club teams from across Canada compete at the 2015 Sport Chek National Club Championships from October 7-12 in four host cities. Each province/territory has the opportunity to send a provincial/territorial champion to the competition in hopes of becoming national champions.
Ontario's representatives for the Sport Chek National Club Championships qualified for the competition by winning the Ontario Cup. Provincial Champions representing Ontario at Nationals are:
Division | Ontario Representative |
---|---|
U-14 Boys | Epic FC Toronto |
U-14 Girls | Woolwich Wolfpack |
U-16 Boys | Woodbridge Strikers |
U-16 Girls | Kitchener Spirit |
U-18 Boys | Oakville SC |
U-18 Girls | Bradford Eagles |
Senior Men | London Marconi |
Senior Women | Scarborough G.S. United |
Under 18 representatives come from the Under 17 divisions of Ontario Cup, as many of the players playing in the U-18 divisions are away at college or university.
Teams will compete in a Round Robin format in the early days of the competition, with the final games slated for Monday, October 12. The U14, U18, and parts of the Senior competitions will be available live by webstream via the CSA website.
At the 2014 National Club Championships, Ontario won seven medals – five Gold and two Silver. This year's representatives will strive to match those impressive results as they go up against Canada's best.
Each year, four provinces take on the responsibility of hosting a National Club Championship division. The four hosts for the 2015 competition are listed below:
Division | Host |
