Three Ontario Teams Come Away With National Championships

Ontario had five teams competing in the gold medal game at the Canadian National Club Championships on Monday. 

Three of those teams came away with the national title and the other two put in performances that were the talk of the tournament. 

Ontario and Alberta champions took two very different roads to get to the final. London Marconi, the reigning champions were never really threatened. Four straight clean sheets, timely goals when needed, all comfortable victories.

In a girls' U18 Cup tournament that has seen a lot of parity, one team stood above all others, and the Bradford Eagles of Ontario convincingly claimed the gold medal on Teck Finals Day at the Sport Chek National Club Championships in Charlottetown.

In an U-16 Girls extra-time thriller, Lakeshore SC of Quebec claimed the Sport Chek National Club Championship as they defeated Kitchener spirit of Ontario 3-1 under wet and soggy conditions at the South Surrey Athletic Park.

In what was two years in the making, Surrey United SC finally claimed the Gold Medal at the Sport Chek National Club Championships after defeating Woodbridge Strikers 3-0 in front of a boisterous home-town crowd, who despite the wet conditions came out in droves to support their home club.

Teck Finals Day at the Sport Chek 2015 National Club Championships wrapped up in fine style with a trilling U-14 Cup finale between Ontario and British Colombia. Both teams came out aggressively, giving fans an exciting and fast-paced match that ended in a come from behind victory for Ontario's Toronto Epic FC.

Two Ontario teams also found themselves on the Nationals medal podium. The Woolwich Wolfpack won U-14 Girls Bronze and Scarborough GS United won the Women's Bronze as well.
