To celebrate the conclusion of the OPDL season, the U-14 OPDL Charity Shield Match will be hosted Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

Games will be played by the first team in the West Conference versus the first team in the East Conference on both genders.

Games will be scheduled as follows:

U-14 Girls Game | 10 a.m. | Whitby Iroqouis vs Burlington Bayhawks
U-14 Boys Game | 1 p.m. | Ottawa South United vs Richmond Hill

The event is open to the public. Admission is $5.

If you cannot attend, you can watch both games live online. Subscribe to the OSA Livestream channel to be notified by email when the games kick-off.

The Charity Shield is designed to celebrate OPDL License Holders for their achievements, as well as contribute to charity organizations operating in Ontario.

As such, there will be some notable faces in attendance to help ring in the day.

Celebrity soccer commentator Nigel Reed, who has 30 years of broadcast experience and whose voice has graced numerous FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games, will be on hand to do the play-by-play of both games.

In addition, two of Canada's top match officials, Silviu Petrescu and Carol Anne Chenard, will be refereeing both games.

Finally, Tony Fonseca, Technical Director of the Canada Soccer, will be in attendance to have a look at some of the talent on display.

All proceeds from the games will be split between the winners of each game (male and female) and donated to charities indicated by the License Holders.

In the future, the U-14 OPDL Charity Shield Match will be structured along with the U-15 OPDL Showcase providing further opportunity for players to be exposed to the next level of competition.
