The U-16 Girls Ontario Indoor Cup final between Woodbridge and Brams United was a tactical affair with both teams feeling each other for long periods of time.

Woodbridge and Brams would trade a number of chances but neither would be able to find a way through in the first half.

As the game wore on Woodbridge, who was sporting a short bench on the day, took fewer chances and began to put up a defensive shell in an effort to hold on to the draw.

The ploy would work but not before Woodbridge’s keeper Luxshala Govindarajan would be forced into making a game saving stop with two minutes left as her outstretched hand deflected the Brams chance away.

And it would be Govindarajan who would be the hero in penalties as well, as the Woodbridge keeper would make a number of stops to give the Strikers a 2-1 victory on penalties.
