With the 2016 League1 Ontario season right around the corner final selections, signings, and matchday preparations are in full flow. 

In This Week In League1 Ontario, we begin our technical profiles with none other than the defending men's champions, Oakville Blue Devils.

Many are wondering if the Blue Devils can keep their winning form alive and make a run at the 2016 title.

Head coach Duncan Wilde sat down to give a detailed summary of what the champs have in store.

In our final profile of League1 Ontario teams being added for 2016, an exciting partnership between University of Toronto and North Toronto Soccer club enters the men's division. 

Featuring a freshly minted professionalized model at North Toronto driving a player-centric high-performance structure, the top level facilities at downtown Toronto's Varsity Stadium, and a mix of varsity and emerging youth prospects - it appears the Nitros are ready to hit the ground running.

Woodbridge Strikers women are setting the pace with the announcement of signing NCAA Second Team All-Star Hope Sabadash for the 2016 season. Sabadash, a native of Mississauga, is a student athlete at Southeastern Lousiana University.

Finally, we have four more technical profiles of League1 Ontario men's teams ahead of the men's division kick-off on Friday April 29, and some powerhouse teams are taking shape. 

As Ontario's MLS club, Toronto FC Academy are understandably well-stocked with some of the best prospects in the province. Head coach Stuart Neely explained how a whole generation of prospects will come through to the League1 stage this summer.

Vaughan Azzurri have been a perennial contender in the League1 title race and the quality of development in the organization is evident after graduating ten players from their 2015 League1 Ontario team to NCAA D1 schools. Head coach Carmine Isacco detailed a tantalizing mix of youth and experience lined up for the 2016 squad.

Eastern Ontario representatives Kingston Clippers return for the 2016 season with a partnership with the Queen's University program that sees them well fleshed out through mutual head coach Christian Hoefler's guidance and an ever growing roster of locally based talent. Hoefler highlighted the growth of the program, as well as the growing depth of youth prospects.

Sigma FC is a name on every soccer enthusiasts lips after showcasing some top players through their League1 program in previous years, such as Canadian international and Orlando City SC striker Cyle Larin, Real Salt Lake's Emery Welshman, and 2015 MLS SuperDraft phenom Richmond Laryea going to Orlando City SC. Technical director and head coach Bobby Smyrniotis spoke to the academy's next generation of stars that debut in League1 Ontario 2016.
