Travel Insurance Rates To Rise In June

Travel insurance is strongly recommended by The Ontario Soccer Association for all registrants when traveling to play out of Province, in order to ensure all persons are covered for both injury and sickness in a foreign location.

Such travel insurance is fairly inexpensive for the coverage provided in unexpected circumstances.

As a reminder, the OSA Accident and Dismemberment insurance responds after OHIP and when out of province OHIP is not available. Also, the OSA insurance does not cover sickness.

The OSA has been advised by our insurance provider that due to international market conditions - foreign medical costs and currency rates - the insurance industry is increasing the per person price from about $3.63 per person to $4.41 in June 2016.

This is an industry wide increase. Travel insurance for future trips can still be purchased now in order to take advantage of the current rates. Any questions or concerns in this regard can be directed to HUB International.
