This Week In League1 Ontario - First Wins And Streaks Extended

It was a hot and humid matchweek five in League1 Ontario, and a week for first wins and extended streaks too; four teams got their first victories of the season, and the division's leaders kept up their flawless beginnings to 2016 - for the most part.

FC London women started and ended the week with solid performances against Kingston Clippers and North Mississauga Panthers, extending their flawless start to the season to three matches and moving into second place with a game in hand on their closest rivals Durham United FA and Woodbridge Strikers.

Kingston Clippers men put three in the opposition's net and kept theirs clean en route to a 3-0 home win over Aurora United.

Kingston men weren't done there, dumping Toronto FC Academy out of the L1 Cup as well.

East met West in the men's L1 Cup as the joint-divison leaders on both sides clashed. Someone had to lose between Durham United FA and FC London - who did?

The other joint-leader in the men's western division, Sigma FC went to Windsor and came home with a 2-0 result to keep the pressure on FC London to keep pace at the top.

It was a clash of two powerhouses - and a gala day to celebrate Durham's 2015 League1 Ontario title - in the women's division as Durham United FA drew with Woodbridge Strikers.

The second half was all fire as Sanjaxx women got their first three points after a gruelling battle with Darby FC.

Clippers women pulled off another incredible comeback, putting three on the board late to draw Aurora 3-3.

Sanjaxx men got their first win of the season as well, with main man Hilliard Serrao getting a brace over Pro Stars.

Woodbridge men ended the matchweek as sole owners of first place in the east following a 4-1 victory over Aurora.

The FC London men's machine made it a flawless five wins in five matches after a 3-nil result over visitors North Mississauga.

Defending League1 Ontario champions Oakville Blue Devils finally got their first win of 2016, taking down Toronto FC Academy in a thriller.
