The U-18 Boy's Ontario Cup Final, presented by Room Roster, was contested by the Ancaster Titans and Woodbridge Strikers.

Ancaster defeated Ottawa South United 3-1 and Woodbridge defeated the Toronto Lynx 2-1 to advance to the final.

The first 15 minutes of the final were breathless ones as both teams tested each other in end-to-end action. Neither were unable to break through however.

Nicholas Passutto made a fantastic individual effort for Woodbridge, beating several defenders only to see his shot cleared off the line at the last second.

On the ensuing rebound, Ancaster broke down the opposite way, led by Gregory Gordon who saw his own chance turned away at the last second.

It would take until the 39th minute for one of the teams to break through.

After some sustained pressure Ancaster whipped a cross into the box which found the head of Marcus Rizzuti who rose to the occasion and nodded the ball into the open net to make it 1-0 for the Titans.

Connor Russell would increase the Titan lead to 2-0 in the second half when he pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the Woodbridge box and curled his shot into the top right corner.

Vito Ancona pulled one back for Woodbridge moments later when a looping cross into the box fell to his foot and he slotted it far side to make it 2-1.

Woodbridge pressed Ancaster for a stretch, looking for the equalizer but then against the run of play, Robert Tamale broke free with a chance in on net.

As Tamale attempted to round the Woodbridge keeper Rocco Strazzella collided with the Titans striker resulting in a penalty kick. No additional punishment was issued and Strazzella stayed on the field and successfully defended the Ancaster penalty chance to keep his team within one.

Woodbridge would come close to tying it in the dying moments when a header, which seemed destined for the back of the net when, for the second time in the game, the ball was cleared away off the goal line by the Ancaster defence.

That would be enough as Ancaster would hold on the rest of the way and capture the U-18 Boys Ontario Cup.
