The U-16 Girls Ontario Cup Final, presented by Room Roster, was an excellent showcase of two of the best clubs in province.

The Burlington Bayhawks took on the Woodbridge Strikers in a game that lived up to its billing.

Both sides showed tremendous prowess in the defensive half, turning away their opponent’s chances and limiting their opportunities with close marking.

The first half ran out at 0-0 but the second half would open with a fury.

In the 50th minute, Woodbridge took advantage of a corner kick with a set piece off the training ground.

As the ball was played into the box on the deck, several Woodbridge players made dummy runs around the ball. With the clever play, Woodbridge’s Katalin Tolnai found herself all alone in front of the net and made no mistake in blasting it home to make it 1-0.

The goal would open up the play between these teams and would trade chances back and forth, with end to end action.

Neither would be able to find the back of the net until extra time. Woodbridge would earn a set piece on the edge of the box. Woodbridge's Chloe Zomaparelli, who had just missed a free kick earlier in the game, buried her set piece into the back of the net and clinched the U-16 Girls Ontario Cup championship for the Strikers.
