The U-14 Boys Ontario Cup Final, presented by Room Roster, was a furiously fast start to the finals weekend.

The London Youth Whitecaps and Brampton East Blades had each stream rolled their opponents throughout this year’s Ontario Cup but they were both for a hard battle on the day, in what was largely a physical affair between two very talented teams.

The Whitecaps dominated possession in the early going but it was Brampton who would score first when a Joraver Gill blast from 20-yards-out went bar down and into the back of the net.
London continued to press for the remainder of the half, with several opportunities but were unable to convert any of their chances.

After the restart, London continued with their pressure and earned a free kick in a dangerous area.

David Cubillos’ high free kick bounced off the bar and fell to the foot of Ryan Ojeerally. Brampton’s Alessandro Manno made the first stop, but Ojeerally collected his own rebound and walked it across the line to tie the game at 1-1.

Cubillos was also doing it at the other end of the pitch for London as well as he repeatedly turned away Brampton attacks ensuring the game would stay locked.

Both teams would trade chances but neither could find a final marker and the game would head to penalties, which wouldn't disappoint.

After five shots, each team was still tied after a miss each. In sudden death kicks, two potential saves were called back after the goalies left their line early. On the corresponding kicks, each team would score following the called back saves. It would take all the outfield shooters but Brampton would finally prevail and be crowned U-14 Boys Ontario Cup champions.
