The U-17 Boys Tier 2 Ontario Cup final, presented by Room Roster, was contested by the Thunder Bay Chill Jr Reserves and Malton United Black.
Thunder Bay got things going early, scoring in the second minute when Matthew Pawlicki got on the end of a cross and gave the Chill a 1-0 lead.
The Chill added to their lead only minutes later when Justin Kawei jumped on a loose ball in the Malton 18-yard-box and made in 2-0.
Malton were able to claw their way back into the game about 15 minutes later after the slow start. A penalty gave Malton life as Asheer Nehal converted his penalty chance from the spot and made it 2-1.
After the restart, Thunder Bay once again got off to a quick start as Peter Pilato restored the Chill two goal lead after converting an opportunity from inside the box and make it 3-1.
Eric Nisioiu added to that lead 10 minutes later, squeaking it past the Malton keeper to make it 4-1 and put the game out of reach.
That would be all they needed as Thunder Bay closed up shop the rest of the way and secured the U-17 Tier 2 Boys Ontario Cup.
