Ontario pulled in quite the medal haul on TECK Day Finals at the Sport Chek National Championships.

The provincial champions were in fine form as our representatives collected medals in every age category.

In total, Ontario teams would win one gold, one silver and four bronzes.

Ottawa Gloucester Celtic, who were previous national champions, were not able to repeat the feat in 2016 but did win bronze with a 5-2 victory over HUSA Alumni in the Challenge Trophy.

Scarborough GS United, who finished top of their group but did not advance to the gold medal game based on goal differential, took Edmonton Northwest to penalties in the Jubliee Trophy bronze medal game. GS United would win 4-3 in kicks from the spot.

The Woodbridge Strikers, who had shown they could hang with anyone in the U-18 Boys finals, won bronze by defeating Manitoba's Bonivital with a convincing 3-0 win.

The Kitchener Spirit went undefeated through the U-18 Girls group play with a perfect 4-0 record and faced the Internazionale from Edmonton in the Gold Medal game. Despite having the majority of the chances, the Spirit weren't able to find a way through and fell 1-0 to the side from Alberta.

Waterloo United, who had been undefeated through their U-14 Girls group play, downed St. John's SC from Newfoundland with a solid 2-0 victory, securing the bronze.

The Brampton East Blades edged BC's Fraser Valley with a narrow 1-0 win and would win Ontario's lone gold medal from the weekend.

All of the U-16 finals in Lethbridge were cancelled following a massive snowstorm and have yet to have been decided.
