As Grassroots reflect on a busy and productive 2014 for development in Ontario, we excitedly look forward to program, communication and delivery in 2015.

Some initiatives that Grassroots are looking forward to are the expansion and development of our school programs. Preparing High School students to become qualified soccer coaches and working with elementary schools with the delivery of soccer festivals within the school environment. Exposing young coaches and teachers to player centered coaching and stage appropriate activities will continue to develop good coaches and create good environments for creative players to flourish in.

Another project Grassroots will work on is the FIFA Live Your Goals legacy event for the 2015 Women’s World Cup. This event will take place In Ottawa during May and will involve 200 young female players with female coaches and volunteers. The interactive day of soccer will inspire our young players to continue to work on developing their skills and become the next generation of Canadian World Cup Stars.

Grassroots continues to communicate and educate our members on the many benefits of LTPD and deliver grassroots workshops and presentations to deliver a variety of messages.

In 2015, Grassroots is planning to create a series of webinars that will allow coaches and administrators the opportunity to participate in educational programs without leaving the comfort of their home or office.

Additionally, the grassroots department have been invited to deliver at a series of prestigious Coaching conferences in 2015. Some of these include NSCAA, U of T, OFSAA and the national physical literacy conference.
