The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) and HUB International are proud to present a new Grassroots Practice Series, which will assist coaches from across the province in developing our athletes.

The video series, which will release new practices every month for players ages 4-12, aims to make the game more enjoyable, while building off of the Preferred Training Model for young players.

“The Preferred Training Model takes into consideration the Psychological, Technical, Physical and Social aspects of the game,” Bobby Lennox, OSA Manager of Player Development said. “These practices will help coaches plan their sessions and challenge our players in fun, engaging practices.”

The series includes practices for the Active Start, Fundamentals and Learn to Train age groups based on the Long Term Player Development Framework OSA has been advancing over the last few years. Each video will be accompanied by a PDF version of the practice, which coaches can then print off and take with them to the field.

“Entrepreneurship is one of HUB’s values. We want to encourage innovation and this practice series represents that for Ontario soccer,” said Gerry De Lauro, HUB International Senior VP of Group and Affinity. “We are thrilled to be part of this initiative and look forward to seeing the value that the OSA membership receives from this series.”

This series represents an evolution in the exposure that the OSA is now offering to its partners.

“As we seek to find new ways for our partners to connect with the Ontario soccer community, we are exploring an ever-expanding range of platforms,” Bjorn Osieck, OSA Director of Business Operations said. “This series, and others initiatives like it, provide a great opportunity for those looking to go beyond traditional partnerships and really reach down into our community.”

Please find the first three in the series of 18 Grassroots Practice Series on the OSA website.
