OPDL kicked off its second season with 32 games played in two centralized venues this past weekend. Hosts included Ron Joyce Stadium and Alumni Field at McMaster University and the Tindall Field, West Campus, and Nixon Field at Queens University.

The OPDL (Ontario Player Development League) launched in 2014 as the province's first standards-based, youth high performance league. The league was introduced to play an important component of the overall Long Term Player Development movement, specifically stages 4 (Train-to-Train) and 5 (Train-to-Compete) of the LTPD pathway.

In 2015, OPDL has increased its participation to include players in both the 2001 and 2002 age groups. The OPDL will be rolling out a new age group every season until there is a full compliment of teams in the youth player structure.
