The OPDL Charity Shield for the U-14 and U-15 divisions will take place this Saturday Nov. 5 at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

All four of these matches will feature the top team from each conference and age division.

The U-14 Girls will get things started at 9 a.m. when Ottawa South United, the Eastern conference champions, will take on the Vaughan Azzurri from the West.

The U-15 Girls Charity Shield follows that, kicking off at noon and featuring Markham SC from the East and Aurora Youth Soccer Club from the West.

The U-15 Boys will get things underway at 3 p.m. when Ottawa South United, winners of the Eastern conference, will face the Vaughan Azzurri, winners of the West.

The U-14 Boys Charity Shield will wrap things up on the final day, when West Ottawa will take on the Vaughan Azzurri.

While also an integral opportunity to showcase the immense talent found within the OPDL before fellow OPDL members, scouts and families, the Charity Shield will see more funds dedicated to Ontario charities.

Every dollar accumulated through the $5 admission rate will be donated to Ontario charities, as chosen by the winning teams in each match.

Last year, the Charity Shield matches raised over $1,500.  The Whitby Iroquois Girls team shared their donation between the Charles H. Best Diabetes Foundation in Whitby and the Sick Kids Foundation, with the Richmond Hill Boys team dedicating their portion to the Sick Kids Foundation as well.

If you can't join us in person on Nov. 5 to help raise funds for Ontario charities, you can still watch the most talented players in the U-14 and U-15 age groups in our province by subscribing to the Ontario Soccer Livestream.

Subscribers are notified by email when matches kick off so that you will never miss a minute of action.
